EU-128
Fehmarn Island, Germany, IOTA EU-128
In 2005 and 2006 I started my 1st Dxpedition to Fehmarn Island, right 200km NE of my home.
Fehmarn Island is one of the islands in the North East German Island group.
Next time, when it`s warm outside again (and snow is melted away) I will start another tour up to the seaside.
If you want to work this island, don`t hesitate to get in contact with me and I`tell you when I go there in order
to have a sked. Stations, which already worked me on that island, won`t get another QSL-card, because only 1st
contacts are cornfirmed. Look up the Online-log on the right side of my homepage to be sure, that you are already in log.
Pictures of my equipment and surroundings can be seen on the picture site.
Data
IOTA EU-128 * Locator: JO54NJ * GIA O-01 * QRV on 20m * Mode SSB (only)
Working Conditions
for the first time in April, 23rd in 2005:
- Yaesu Ft-897D, running 100 watts output
- Force 12 Sigma 40XK & Kelemen dipole for 20m-band
- car battery
- paper & pencil logbook
In 2006, 26th of June I startet the 2nd dxpedition with the same equipment, but instead of paper & pencil with a notebook with Ham Office to log. This went better, because with a headset I got free hands to type in the callsigns much more quickly. The rate was better and I enjoyed the fine feeling to log much more stations, indeed.
That same year in August, 29.-30. I started the 3rd way up to the sea and I enjoyed the nice Autumn warm windy weather outside.
In 2010 May,5th and 6th, I took the last tour to Fehmarn Island and perhaps we met on the band (20m in SSB-Mode).
That time I use a homemade new antenna. Logging will be done with HAM Office 4.0 on a even smaller netbook.
Pictures can be seen on this site, too.
